South of Siena, about four kilometres from the lively historic borgo of Buonconvento and immersed in the picturesque country scenery between the Orcia valleys and the evocative Crete Senesi, is this imposing construction, elegantly restored in classic Tuscan style. Villa San Nazario is composed of two buildings (fully air-conditioned) made up of nine suites which can comfortably accommodate up to twenty people; this makes it an ideal location both for families and for adventurous and sporty travellers, given the variety of sports activities on hand. In the main building is a splendid and spacious living room, connected to the large professional kitchen, which, outside, extends first along the panoramic furnished terrace with pergola, overlooking Montalcino and the gentle hilly promontories, and then along a vast well-kept expanse of lawn, in the centre of which are two swimming pools. All around, in addition to this inviting setting, is the peaceful regenerating atmosphere of nature, here absolute protagonist, and, at the same time, guests will have many opportunities of exploring the artistic wonders and the many districts of the city of Siena, about half an hour from the property. A five-minute drive will take you to one of the most prized sites in the area, the impressive Abbey of Monte Oliveto Maggiore, a unique place enveloped by a mystical atmosphere and immersed in a wood of oaks and cypresses, which contains the wonderful cycle of frescoes of the life of St. Benedict, the+ work of illustrious artists of the Italian Renaissance. Please note: The fireplace is ornamental.

Interior:

The property consists of a main building and an adjoining annex. MAIN BUILDING. On three floors, it consists of two suites, both accessible from within the main structure, and five non- communicating suites, each with independent access from the outside. The main entrance goes into the living room, composed of two seating areas and a long dining table facing the terrace with pergola. The living room leads to the large open-plan professional kitchen with additional dining/breakfast room. An internal staircase goes both up to the first floor, consisting of two suites with double bed and private bathroom, one with shower and the other with shower and whirlpool tub, and down to the basement with the laundry and guest bathroom. To the left of the main entrance is a small loggia that gives access to a suite with double bed and bathroom with shower and to a suite composed of a double bedroom, a bedroom with two bunk beds, a living room/kitchenette and a bathroom with shower. An external staircase next to the main entrance leads to a suite with double bedroom, sitting room and bathroom with shower and to a suite with two queensize beds with bathroom with shower and a sitting room/kitchenette. The last suite, composed of a double bedroom, bathroom with shower and a sitting room/kitchenette, is located at the back and is reached via a brickstaircase. ANNEX. Located in front of the farmhouse, on the ground floor are two non-communicating suites with independent entrance; the first consists of a double bedroom with divisible bed and bathroom with shower; the second has a double bedroom and two bathrooms with shower. Both suites feature a sitting room/kitchen and a pergola organized for outdoor living.

Park:

The park surrounding the buildings is a green island immersed in the tranquillity of the countryside, dotted with borders of lavender and rosemary along the alternating surfaces in brick and lawn. Near the buildings, embellished with crowns of climbing jasmine, are several outdoor living areas, beginning with the spacious terrace with pergola facing the pools, in front of the main living room and set up as a sitting and dining area (with mobile barbecue) and which allows convenient and complete utilisation of the adjacent pool area. At the end of the cypress-lined access drive, and next to the pedestrian entrance gate, is a large parking area. Please notice that photos are taken in spring, therefore flower blossoming, and the colours of the gardens' grass could be different at the moment of your arrival at the villa.

Swimming Pool:

In the centre of a large lawn, about 10 m from the main house and accessible through an iron gate from the adjacent terrace, are two swimming pools next to each other, the first measures 6 x 10 m deep 1,40 m and the second 5 x 6 m deep 0,60 m. Both have chlorine purification, are lined in PVC and have internal lights, Roman steps for access to the water and a solar-powered shower. Around the sunbathing area, naturally bordered by thick vegetation that does not impede the view over the green hills, are sunbeds shaded by large umbrellas. The pools are open from the last Saturday of April to the first Saturday in October.

The property is located between the villages of Asciano and Buonconvento, in the heart of the superb geographical area around Siena, known as the Crete Senesi, which includes the villages of Montisi, San Giovanni d'Asso, Trequanda, Monteroni d'Arbia and Rapolano Terme, and is characterized by the peculiar morphology of the territory, consisting of clay hills and the so-called “biancane”, which confer upon the clay elevations a typical cuneiform relief. The area of the Crete represents an pristine oasis of evocative and changing landscapes, in which the territory and the environment have maintained, over time, a rare integrity and purity, beloved by hikers, cyclists and motorcyclists. Its location allows you to get to some of the most fascinating places of the adjoining Val d'Orcia. Just 18 km away is Montalcino while, within a few kilometres, panoramic roads will take you to San Quirico d'Orcia, Pienza, Montepulciano, Bagno Vignoni with their rich artistic, cultural and eno-gastronomic heritage. About four kilometres from the property is the borgo of Buonconvento, a beautiful and fascinating old village enclosed by brick town walls, accessible through two imposing portals; strolling along the little narrow streets you will find shops selling typical products, great restaurants and cafes. The village also has a supermarket, a bus stop and a railway station (towards Siena), and on Saturday morning a lively open-air market is held.
