Lerici is situated at the eastern end of the “Bay of Poets” and is dominated by the castle of San Giorgio, today the Geopaleontological Museum. The sea is certainly the main attraction of these areas which, between Lerici, San Terenzo, Fiascherino and Tellaro, offer rocky sections alternating with beaches, either free-access or with facilities. Lerici is also the point of departure and arrival of the boats that take you to Portovenere, the Cinque Terre and, in the summer season, Portofino. Sports activities are numerous and accessible all year round: sailing, with the prestigious Scuola di Santa Teresa, diving and windsurfing, as well as hiking, mountain biking, tennis and golf. Places to visit include the nearby town of Sarzana (7 km), the archaeological area of Luni (15 km), the famous white marble quarries of Carrara in the Apuan Alps (15 km) and fashionable Versilia (30 km) as well as, of course, nearby La Spezia - all within a short drive away thanks to the A12 motorway exits of Sarzana (8 km) and La Spezia (12 km).
