PRIVATE STRUCTURE (LEASE ONLY - CIR CODE: 051017LTN0590). The house, which dates 19th century, as can be seen from the inscription on sandstone conserved by the owner, has undergone renovation which has maintained the interior structure that the preceding owners had given it. The house has a large park divided between approximately 1500 sq m of garden with the rest given over to terracing with olive trees. On the top floor is the owners’ apartment, very reserved people but at the same time very helpful to guests if the need should arise. The owners’ apartment has a completely independent entrance and they do not use the park or the pool. Casa del Sole is a few hundred metres from the centre of Cortona yet pleasantly immersed in the green hill of Cortona from where it dominates the valley below. Cosy corners in the garden as well as fabulous glimpses of the view can be enjoyed by the guests in this charming property. From here the beautiful little towns of Montepulciano, Pienza, Montalcino but also the more important towns like Siena, Perugia, Florence and Rome can be easily reached.

Interior:

The part used for renting is all on one floor. The main entrance leads into the kitchen with dining area and into the sitting room with working fireplace formed by an open space divided by a brick archway. A corridor leads to the sleeping area composed of a double bedroom and a twin bedroom, with two queen size beds, which share a bathroom with tub and shower.

Park:

The park extends around the house for about 1000 sq m, of which about 500 sq m are garden and the rest terracing with olive trees. Many large trees, such as oaks and holm oaks, linden, cypress, plum and fig trees, are present in the property. The various corners of the garden are embellished by vibernum, rosemary and spiraea bushes, bamboo and pots with various kinds of flowers. In a secluded area of the garden is an open air lounge with comfortable armchairs with cushions and a small rattan table, a charming spot for sitting and relaxing in absolute peace. At the back of the house is a pergola furnished with table and chairs and a barbecue for pleasant alfresco meals. Please notice that photos are taken in spring, therefore flower blossoming, and the colours of the gardens' grass could be different at the moment of your arrival at the villa.

Swimming Pool:

Open from the last Saturday of April to the first Saturday of October, the pool is about 20 m from the house, in a lower position. The pool is fully fenced and It is rectangular in shape, access to the water is by Roman steps, it is lined in PVC and measures 10 x 4 m with a depth varying from 1 to 2.20 m. It is lighted by spotlights, both outside and inside the pool. Purification pool with active oxygen. The solarium area is provided with sunbeds, chaises longues and sun umbrella. At one side of the solarium is a cold water shower.

Pets: Yes. Extra cleaning when animals are present (€ 50,00 per animal per week or part of a week).

Location and distances


The Location is an ideal starting point for who wish to have nice daily trip and sightseeing all over South Tuscany and Umbria as well: being the city of Cortona located not far either from the motorway A1 (exit Valdichiana) and from the freeway Siena-Perugia. Very well known sites like Siena, Montepulciano, Pienza, Montalcino, Perugia, Assisi and so on can be reached in less than hour driving as well as the hidden and maybe most beautiful corners of this 2 regions. Big cities like Florence or Rome can be easily reached also by train (and we suggest to use it in high season to avoid traffic roads) being Cortona served by 2 train railways stations. Above all we are quite sure that you will fall in love with the ancient atmosphere of this beautiful town. All shops and facilities in the big village of Camucia, nice restaurants, bars, cafes, shops in Cortona. Supermarket are open also on Sunday. From the property the village of Cortona can be reached with a nice walk (400 m).

Mrs Teresa was so helpful and friendly throughout our stay. Mrs Teresa and her husband live on site but they are very discreet and you don't notice them at all. I was able to ask her advice on good local restaurants and where was best to go on a day trip to the beach and she was extremely helpful and informed. The pool was cleaned every day and was spotless. We had a wonderful time, thank you.

Theresa and Alfonso were the perfect hosts, we swapped numbers on WhatsApp and any time we had a query they sorted it out immediately. It is clear that they put their heart and soul into their property and that love is felt during your stay.

This property has a beautiful large garden area, with lots of different spaces for different purposes (bbq area, 2 couch/relax areas, pool area, open area etc). This meant our family could be busy doing lots of different things but not be in each other's way. Also the view from the pool is gorgeous, as the villa is on a hillside and has views overlooking this. The inside of the property itself is not massive, but is perfectly sized for being comfortable and spending time as a family. The decor

No, we were very happy with this property. It was a perfect stay and the owner was lovely and kept to herself so we really felt this was our villa and nobody else was there! When we did see her, she was very helpful, polite and friendly!
