Villa Il Foramasso, which takes its name from a majestic bush that welcomes you at the entrance, is part of an imposing complex originally from 1900, which has been successively enlarged and completely renovated, while preserving the typical authenticity and charm of Tuscan country houses. The natural handmade terracotta, the chestnut beams and joists, the travertine marble, the precious wood of the doors and windows are the materials that give voice to the architecture of this prestigious property, furnished with antique and handcrafted furniture. The heart of the house is the spacious living area on the ground floor, which opens out to the garden through numerous French windows, composed of a large living room with dining room, TV room, fitness and recreational area and, finally, a large super-equipped kitchen completed by a wood oven and two barbecue-fireplaces. The panoramic bedrooms with air conditioning and their own private bathroom, with sauna and Turkish bath, enhance the comforts of the house which, surrounded by a lush garden with a large swimming pool, terraces and areas set up for relaxing outdoors, are guaranteed by the secluded and peaceful position of the property, yet within easy reach of some of the most beautiful and interesting Tuscan destinations, such as San Gimignano, Volterra, Chianti, Siena and Florence. Please note: Within the extensive property, in a totally independent position, live the owners who do not interfere in any way with the use of the park and swimming pool.

Interior:

The villa has two floors. The entrance, on the ground floor, goes into a small hall that leads, on the right, to the sitting room, with large fireplace and direct access out to the furnished portico, to the dining room and to the kitchen completed by a pantry at the back. To the left of the entrance is the TV room, a large living room with fitness area and games table, and a room with washing machine, sink, wood oven, barbecue-fireplace and a large work table. Also on this floor are two guest bathrooms. Upstairs, accessible from two sides of the house by travertine stairs, is the sleeping area consisting of two twin bedrooms (with joinable beds) with ensuite bathroom with shower, a double bedroom (with divisible bed) served by a bathroom with hydromassage tub and shower, a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom with shower and a double bedroom served by a bathroom with hydromassage tub, sauna and Turkish bath. In the large study is a double sofa bed.

Park:

The park of this elegant residence extends over a mostly flat area of about 5000 sq m, within an estate of 14 hectares filled with lush vegetation. Past the main gate, a driveway crosses the large park and leads to the parking area which is conveniently close to the main entrance. The beautiful garden surrounding the villa is planted mainly with lawn for about 2000 sq m, dotted with numerous species of Mediterranean plants, bushes of herbs and various flowers. The terrace set up as a relaxation area, the portico at the exit of the living room with sofas and table for outdoor dining and the beautiful swimming pool are all part of this peaceful green setting with beautiful panoramic views on all sides. Please notice that photos are taken in spring, therefore flower blossoming, and the colours of the gardens' grass could be different at the moment of your arrival at the villa.

Swimming Pool:

A large, exclusive and discreet area in the park is dedicated to the swimming pool, which can be reached along a drive of about 70 m, bordered by hedges. Set in a panoramic position, the rectangular swimming pool, measuring 7 x 17 m with the depth varying from 1.40 to 1.80 m, is lined in PVC and has chlorine purification and submerged steps for access to the water. The surrounding area, in stone and lawn, is provided with elegant sunbeds, umbrellas, a cold-water shower and a small shady seating area. The pool is open from the last Saturday in April to the first Saturday in October.

Villa Il Foramasso lies in a hilly position in the countryside of the Val d'Elsa region, in the centre of Tuscany and near the old medieval borgo of Casole d'Elsa, located on a hill overlooking the countryside of the Val d'Elsa and the Sienese Montagnola up to the Maremma. A strategic position, as can be seen by its old intact walls which contain within them interesting architectural works, but which is also super panoramic and of considerable naturalistic and environmental importance, as it is surrounded by the woods of the Foresta di Berignone. For those wanting to spend a holiday in Tuscany, this area represents not only the ideal destination for visiting world famous art cities such as Florence, Siena, Pisa, Lucca, San Gimignano and Volterra, but also a place to rediscover natural, landscape and gastronomic riches of undisputed quality that are exalted in the lands of Chianti which border the whole area. Colle Val d'Elsa and Poggibonsi, a few km from the property, are important commercial centres of the Val d'Elsa, where you can find all your shopping needs as well as excellent taverns and wine bars, and also the train station on the Siena-Florence line. Thanks to the motorway connections, the property is quickly reachable from the regional airports and from the nearest motorway exits from both the south (A1 exit Valdichiana) and the north (A1 exit Firenze Impruneta). The train station that serves Poggibonsi ensures rapid and frequent trips to Siena and the centre of Florence.

It’s a typical tuscan home with higher value beds (in the main rooms, only exception is the folding bed), all with AC and a lovely kitchen. Some things are a little basic, for example the toaster is only enough for two people and the oven takes a longer time to grill vegetables. Also the barbecue is a little small for 12 people. But the rooms are great and big, the host is lovely and kind! The terrace is very nice for lunch or dinner.

The house has everything you need to be very comfortable. The AC works wonderful and the host is always available for anything. I think some of the chairs could be replaced as they are a little too antique but thats just personal taste. The kitchen is great, cooking was a lot of fun there and the patio holds a breathtaking view. The only thing is that the pool is a little far away but if you travel with children its nice to have a quieter time at the house whilst the children have louder fun at

The toaster bigger as there are so many people. A little update on the lounge chairs in the rooms. More bowls and glasses. Maybe a manual for the oven. Bigger barbecue. Just small things, its lovely!
