Villa Croci is a villa built in the 1950, situated among the hills of Tuscany, which has recently been renovated, with great attention to detail, by the owners who have maintained the old style and personalized it with taste and charm, thanks to the use of high quality materials; optimal architectural research of high-profile in complementary finishes to the villa's enjoyment. The location of this property offers guests the possibility of living Tuscany at 360 degrees. It is in fact possible to reach, in a very short time, the beaches of the Etruscan coast, famous for its sea rich in marine fauna and flora, such as Castiglione della Pescaia, as well as to the hinterland characterized by Etruscan and Roman settlements and wildlife reserves such as those of Pegetello and Selva Lamone. Without forgetting the characteristic little medieval villages of Tuscany like Castagneto Carducci, famous for the production of quality wines like Ornellaia and Sassicaia. Just few kilometers from the property is the famous Rocca di Frassinello, a cellar designed by the architect Renzo Piano, where you can taste wines of great value.

Interior:

The villa has three floors. The front door near the parking lot, through some stairs, leads to the ground floor composed of a living area and a sleeping area. The living area is formed by the large living room, kitchen, dining room, all of which lead out into the garden and pool area, and a bathroom with shower. The sleeping area is composed of one double bedroom with wardrobe and with en-suite bathroom with shower, one other double bedroom, one twin bedroom, one other bathroom with whirlpool tub and shower, a small study and a laundry room. An internal staircase leads up to the first floor with a second support kitchen, sitting room, dining room, five double bedrooms two of them with en-suite bathroom with whirlpool tub and shower and one with en-suite bathroom with shower. At this floor there are other two bathrooms, one with shower and whirlpool and one with shower. On the second floor is a living area, four double bedrooms, two with en-suite bathroom with whirlpool tub and shower, a twin bedroom and another two bathrooms with shower. The floors and the finishings of the ground floor and first floor are in original fine marble while the second floor is in wood with wooden ceiling beams. (Please note that the fireplaces are ornamental).

Park:

The villa, totally fenced in, is surrounded by nearly 10000 square metres of garden planted with lawn and pine trees, cypresses and bushes. The garden in front of the villa is terraced in re-invented Baroque style, with lights and fountain creating a very evocative play of colours. At the back of the villa guests can enjoy privacy in the garden near the pool area, thorugh a gazebo where they can share meals close to the kitchen and also over the veranda in front of the house where they can relax before a romantic sunset. At one garden extremity you can glimpse a railway of a secondary train line where pass and average of 5 trains per day.

Swimming Pool:

Open from the last Saturday of April until the first Saturday of October, the pool is about 10 metres from the main building and is reached via a small flight of steps. The pool is rectangular in shape and measures 18 x 8 m with a depth varying from 1,50 to 2,80 m. Purified with chlorine it is lined with light blue tiles that blend well with the surrounding garden. Entrance to the water is via large steps and near the pool border is the solarium area completely tiled in white grès with sunbeds, deckchairs and an outdoor cold-water shower. Near the pool there is also a room with fridge, bathroom and hot-water shower.

Location and distances


Situated amongst the characteristic hills of Tuscany, Villa Croci offers an ideal, well-rounded holiday for its proximity to such historical towns as Siena, Scansano and Castagneto Carducci. The Etruscan coast is famous for its historical settlements, for the production of quality wines such as Ornellaia and Sassicaia and for its famous wildlife reserve beaches like Calaviolina, Cala di Forno and Collelungo. A few kilometres away are the thermal baths of Saturnia, known for its natural waterfalls; and for golf lovers the province of Grosseto offers the possibility of playing in Saturnia, Punta Ala, Monte Argentario and Golf del Pelagone which distances only 15 km from the villa. The village of Giuncarico (hamlet of Gavorrano - Grosseto), incorporated by walls of the XI sec., is located on top of a hill overlooking the Bruna river valley along the highway 1 Via Aurelia connecting Livorno and Grosseto. From up there you can see over hills and verdant and pristine hills of iridescent sea of the Etruscan coast of the Maremma. The geographical location of the village allows you to reach with short trips the most famous seaside resorts of Grosseto (km. 25) as: Castiglione della Pescaia (km. 27), the Switzerland of the Maremma and the pearl of the Tyrrhenian Sea, Follonica (km. 24), Orbetello (km. 70), Capalbio (km. 86), Punta Ala (km. 40). Also set close to locations of great historical and artistic value such as Vetulonia (km. 11), where there are Etruscan ruins, Siena (km. 94) fraught with power and art history, Montalcino (km. 74) famous for the ' food and wine and its countless beautiful scenery including the famous Abbey of Sant'Antimo (km. 12 +); in addition, of course, in Pisa (km. 138) and Rome (km. 215). Nearby is the Castel di Pietra where it appened the sad story of Pia Dei Tolomei, wife of Nello d'Inghiramo, lord of the castle. The episode is remembered by Dante in the fifth canto of Purgatory (vv. 130-136): "Remember me, who am the Pia; Siena made me, Maremma unmade: He knoweth the man who married had won my finger with his ring ".

No. Elena was fantastic. The best we have ever met. Nice, kind, knowledgable, professional and helped us when we arrived and left but also in between with reservation of good restaurants and similar service. Outstanding. Chiara and Francesco were similar great help everyday on cleaning the pool, BBQ and as good local advisors. Great staff. Makes a lot of difference.

The villa and grounds were exceptionally spacious and well laid out to accomodate our large group of 16. Having several 'areas' to retreat to for a'quiet' spot in the shade, away from the main group was a big asset, as was the very large swimming pool.

The area to eat outside the house. Used it every dinner. We where overal pleased with our stay at the house. The chef and the dinner was good. Felt sorry for the girl who helped the chef. In your Email Emmas V said it should be more people helping to serve the food. But she realy worked hard and did here best.

WEEKLY RENTALS:
The standard typology is the one that foresees the regular Saturday- Saturday stay. In this case it is possible to send a request or to directly book online.

SHORT STAYS and NON-WEEKLY STAYS:
For some periods it is possible to make shorter stays STARTING FROM 5 NIGHTS (periods highlighted in grey on the calendar). For some properties it is possible to book online, for other properties it is possible to send a booking request, which will be subject to acceptance by Emma Villas. One of our booking operators will answer the clients within 24 hours.

WEEKLY RENTALS NON SAT - SAT STAYS:
Exclusively for the periods marked in grey on the calendar, it will be possible to book different periods, rather than the regular Saturday - Saturday (for instance: check-in Wednesday - Check-out Wednesday). Also in this case, for some properties it is possible to book online, for other properties it is possible to send a booking request, which will be subject to acceptance by Emma Villas within 24 hours.

  • Covid-19 infections (new)

  • national lockdown in Italy;
  • local lockdown in Italy regarding the area in which the booked villa is located ("red" area or impossible to reach due to official restrictions on free circulation);
  • national lockdown in your country of residence;
  • Italian local lockdown in the Client's Municipality or area of residence..

  • online check-in (entering the required details that you did not enter when booking);
  • payment of tourist tax (where due) and eventual flat-rate payments requested (eg electricity, heating, extra cleaning for animals, etc.);
