Villa Il Meluccio has been built in a dominant position over a large private property that offers a spectacular view of the sea and the islands of the Tuscan Archipelago, Elba, Gorgona and Capraia, and, on a clear day, even Corsica; surrounded by an abundant blooming garden, amongst olive trees in a green relaxing atmosphere, the property includes various relaxation areas, in keeping with the elegance and style of the luxury villa, and a beautiful swimming pool. The two-storey villa is harmonious and light, carefully designed in a style where the most modern comforts combine perfectly with simple elegance. The entire house has Impruneta terracotta floors and exposed wooden-beamed ceilings. The living areas are bright and airy, with light, linear furniture that renders the rooms even more brilliant and radiant. Breathtaking views can be seen from the large gound floor windows and from the first floor terrace. The villa is just a few kilometres from the beaches of the Etruscan Coast with its transparent sea and long, wide beaches alternating sand and rock, from Livorno to Piombino, and from the medieval villages where, following in the footsteps of Etruscan civilization, you can enjoy the local gastronomic traditions accompanied by the DOC Bolgheri wines like Sassicaia, Ornellaia and Toscana Rosso IGT “Lupicaia” produced by the estate in which Villa Il Meluccio is located.

VILLA IL MELUCCIO HAS BEEN SUBJECTED TO A CHECK-UP BY A TECHNICAL RESPONSIBLE BEFORE THE BEGINNING OF THE SEASON, TO ENSURE CONSISTENCY OF THE DESCRIPTION, ACCESSORIES LISTED ON THIS PAGE AND THEIR PRESENT STATE OF OPERATION/MAINTENANCE, TO GUARANTEE QUALITY, CLEANLINESS AND COMFORTS TO ALL CLIENTS WHO WILL STAY HERE.

Interior:

The house has two floors plus a basement. The main entrance leads into a double living room with fireplace which faces out onto a portico furnished with sofas and armchairs. On the right is the dining room which leads to the fully equipped, eat-in kitchen. To the left of the main entrance is a TV room with sofa and a bathroom with shower. An internal staircase leads up to the first floor with 6 bedrooms with air conditioning: a double bedroom with kingsize bed and ensuite bathroom with shower, a twin bedroom with joinable beds and ensuite bathroom with shower and tub, a twin bedroom with joinable beds with ensuite bathroom with shower and access to the panoramic terrace, a double bedroom, a twin bedroom with joinable beds, a bathroom with tub and shower, a double bedroom with kingsize bed and ensuite bathroom with tub and shower and access to the panoramic terrace. From the ground floor an internal staircase leads down to the basement area with twin bedroom with joinable beds, bathroom with shower, games room and TV room, pantry and laundry room.

Park:

The 15,000 sq m park surrounding the villa is part of a private estate occupied in part by old olive trees and DOC vineyards. The large garden surrounding the house is mainly manicured lawn, planted with shrubs of Mediterranean herbs and here and there terracotta pots with colourful flowers. The pool is sited near the villa, within the olive grove. The kitchen leads out to a well-maintained gazebo which can be used as a dining area for outdoor meals. The living rooms lead out to an elegant portico furnished with sofas and armchairs as a relaxation area. Please notice that photos are taken in spring, therefore flower blossoming, and the colours of the gardens' grass could be different at the moment of your arrival at the villa.

Swimming Pool:

The rectangular pool, located 30 m from the house within the olive grove, measures 12 x 6 with the depth varying from 60 to 160 cm; access to the water is via angular Roman steps. The 400 sq m sunbathing area surrounding the pool, in part paving and part lawn, is well equipped with sunbeds, umbrellas, 4 director chairs and a gazebo with two armchairs, sofa and a table. Next to the pool is a changing room and a shower. The pool is open from the last Saturday in April until the first Saturday of October.

Location and distances


The Etruscan Coast extends from Livorno to Piombino. The main part of the Etruscan Coast is included in the area half way along the coastal strip and, in addition to the magnificent natural oasis of Bolgheri, consists of the beautiful coastal pine forests of Cecina and Donoratico and the wooded hills of Bibbona, Bolgheri and Monte Calvi where beautiful chestnut woods alternate with Mediterranean vegetation. In fact, the Etruscan Coast is not just sea, but also the stunning beauty of its hills and countryside. Historical-cultural interest is concentrated in the medieval borghi of Castagneto Carducci, Suvereto and Campiglia Marittima which preserve significant vestiges of town walls and fortified buildings. In the area of Monte Calvi important activity of extraction and working of minerals has been carried out since the Etruscan period, as can be seen from the remains of various ovens. Other centres of interest are the area of the Piombino promontory with natural and archaeological features in the northern part, the splendid Gulf of Baratti and the necropolis of Populonia, ancient Populonia, the only Etruscan city which was founded as a base for maritime trade and for the working of metal extracted in the nearby island of Elba.
