Born as a military watchtower and transformed, over time, into a typical farmhouse, it is now an elegant country house available to guests looking for a luxurious residence with an ancient flavour and modern accessories. The refined renovation has preserved some of the elements that characterised the original construction, such as the doors and windows, the handmade terracotta floors, the exposed stone walls built according to the fortress style, the high ceilings with exposed beams and terracotta tiles and the barrel vault ceiling in the dining room. The interior furnishings, with period furniture and magnificent chandeliers, blend harmoniously with the architectural style of the rooms, enriched by numerous works of art. The property, surrounded by an extensive park and with a swimming pool for exclusive use that ensures privacy and discretion for the guests, is an excellent location for organising events and celebrations. The large prestigious farm estate in which the villa is set, of organic vocation, produces an exquisite wine which can be tasted directly at the fascinating cellar of the estate, together with other extraordinary products such as vin santo, grappa and extra virgin olive oil, made according to tradition and with respect for the environment. Located about 2 km from the borgo of Castiglion Fibocchi in the upper Valdarno, in a hilly area of great naturalistic importance on the outskirts of Chianti, Villa Canto alla Moraia will be an ideal starting point for visiting the beautiful Parco delle Foreste Casentinesi , the Pratomagno, the area of the balze (crags) and the numerous art localities in the surroundings, including the cities of Siena, Florence and Arezzo, the latter about 15 km away. Please Note: when property is rented in this solution no other guest will be present on site.



The villa is on two floors connected by an internal staircase. On the ground floor is the spacious living area: large sitting rooms (the fireplace is ornamental), two dining areas, a big industrial kitchen and a guest bathroom. All the rooms communicate with the garden through large French windows. On the first floor is the sleeping area consisting of two double bedrooms with ensuite bathroom with hydromassage tub, three double bedrooms with ensuite bathroom with shower. The laundry room is located in an external area adjoining the building.


In the completely-fenced, 10-hectare park of Villa Canto alla Moraia are a vast vineyard, woods and a rich garden planted mainly with lawn with numerous relaxation areas embellished with well-kept vegetation. In the immediate vicinity of the two residential units (outside the main kitchen) is the dining area with a long table protected by umbrellas. A few steps away, near the swimming pool area, is an outdoor kitchen with barbecue, wood oven and sink; next to it is the pergola providing shade to a rustic table with benches. On one side of the pool is the large portico which can be set up for events and celebrations. In the property, equipped with an automatic access gate, is a large parking area. Please notice that photos are taken in spring, therefore flower blossoming, and the colours of the gardens' grass could be different at the moment of your arrival at the villa.

Swimming Pool:

Lying in a beautiful panoramic position with an open view over the hilly landscape, the swimming pool can be reached from the villa (which is about 60 m away) across the garden (on a slightly downhill path) or down a spectacular flight of steps. The rectangular pool, measuring 8 x 15 m with a constant depth of 1.40 m, is lined in PVC and has salt purification, internal lights and steps for access to the water. Along the edge is the secluded lawn sunbathing area, equipped with sunbeds and umbrellas. In an adjacent annex, a beautiful stone structure with a vine-covered pergola, is a relaxation area, a fridge and two bathrooms with shower. The pool is open from the last Saturday in April until the first Saturday in October.

Location and distances

Thanks to its geographical position in the heart of Tuscany, Villa Canto alla Moraia is the perfect location and an ideal starting point for exploring the most important historical and cultural centres of the region. It is located about 2 km from the borgo of Castiglion Fibocchi, where you will find shops, supermarkets, restaurants, as well as a tennis court and a go-kart track. We are in the Valdarno area, a hilly region located between the cities of Florence and Arezzo, crossed by the river Arno and bordered to the north-east by the Pratomagno massif and to the south-west by the Chianti area. The Valdarno area is characterised by the great variety of landscapes that can be encountered when crossing it and, above all, by the presence of the so-called balze (crags), rocky erosions formed by the drying up of a large lake that covered the Arno valley, which many believe portrayed in the backgrounds of the paintings of the great Leonardo da Vinci. A short distance from the property, along the Setteponti road, the ancient road linking Arezzo and Vallombrosa, are numerous CAI (Club Alpino Italiano) routes along which you can explore the whole area of the balze on foot or by mountain bike, dotted with many Romanesque rural buildings and churches that testify the presence of human settlements since the times of the Romans and the Etruscans, thanks to the fertility and abundance of the fauna that has always characterised the area. Well served by both the A1 motorway (Arezzo exit for those coming from Rome, Valdarno exit for those coming from Florence) and the railway line that connects Arezzo (the station is 16 km away) to Rome and Florence, the property is an excellent departure point for visiting the main art cities of Tuscany, such as Arezzo (15 km), Siena (60 km) and Florence (67 km) as well as the area of the most famous red wines in the world: Brunello di Montalcino and Chianti Classico, which are just one hour (the first) and half an hour (the second) away by car.
