RECEPTIVE STRUCTURE (CIR CODE: 054036AGR1G07778). Its origins go back three centuries but numerous works of renovation over the years have turned it into a cosy country home. Casa Torrione, whose characteristic is represented by the so-called “torrione” or small tower that stands sentry over the building is, in fact, the first farmhouse outside the town of Paciano, a borgo categorized among the most beautiful in Italy and surrounded by the splendid nature of the Umbrian region; the historic town centre is just 5 minutes by foot from the property. You just need to cross the gate into the property to find yourself in the silence of a large, well-tended garden where you can relax outdoors and with a panoramic swimming pool for your exclusive use. In the centre towers the austere stone structure of the house (which is completed by a small annex, once used as a barn) with inside two large living areas that open out on to the garden, one designated as the lounge and the other as the dining room, and classically-styled bedrooms with antique cupboards and chests and wrought-iron beds, to accommodate up to 14 people. The perfect spot for your holiday which is within walking distance of the town of Paciano (with shops and cafés) and from which, thanks to its central location in a border area straddling the regions of Tuscany and Umbria, you can set off to explore amazing natural landscapes and the beautiful localities full of art and tradition that are scattered around the area: Cortona, Orvieto, Todi, Assisi, Montepulciano, Pienza and Siena, to name just a few, are all easily accessible.

CASA TORRIONE HAS BEEN SUBJECTED TO A CHECK-UP BY A TECHNICAL RESPONSIBLE BEFORE THE BEGINNING OF THE SEASON, TO ENSURE CONSISTENCY OF THE DESCRIPTION, ACCESSORIES LISTED ON THIS PAGE AND THEIR PRESENT STATE OF OPERATION/MAINTENANCE, TO GUARANTEE QUALITY, CLEANLINESS AND COMFORTS TO ALL CLIENTS WHO WILL STAY HERE.

Interior:

The structure consists of a main, two-storey building, divided into two separate units with no internal communication between them, and a small adjacent annex. UNIT 1. The main entrance leads into the living area, set out with a large, bright dining room and a smaller room connected to the built-in kitchen which is equipped with a fireplace-barbecue and has direct access out to the garden at the back. A terracotta staircase at the entrance leads up to the first floor with the sleeping area consisting of three bedrooms: a twin (with joinable beds) with ensuite bathroom with shower, a double and another twin sharing a bathroom with tub. UNIT 2. The ground floor is composed of a spacious living room with sofas gathered around the antique fireplace, facing out onto the garden, a handy kitchenette, equipped with washing machine, a double bedroom and a bathroom with shower. The sleeping area upstairs consists of a twin bedroom (with joinable beds) and a double bedroom, both served by a bathroom with tub. ANNEX. Standing a few metres from the house, a spacious veranda leads into the small apartment which consists of a twin bedroom (with joinable beds) and a bathroom with shower.

Park:

Inside the 2-hectare property of woods and olive grove is the large well-tended garden of about 1000 sq m, enclosed with net, mainly lawn with olive trees, cypresses, oleanders and potted plants, that surrounds the house and pool. Relaxing areas have been set up in the back garden which communicate with the ground-floor living area of the house. Here is a dining area, under a large stone gazebo, near the pool where you can cool off in the shade and admire the view or prepare alfresco meals as it is equipped with a barbecue. The property is accessed through an wooden gate (located near the main road) which leads, after a few metres, to the parking area near the entrance to the house. Please notice that photos are taken in spring, therefore flower blossoming, and the colours of the gardens' grass could be different at the moment of your arrival at the villa.

Swimming Pool:

In the most panoramic spot of the garden, bordered by a row of hedges and shaded by the ruffled foliage of the olive trees, lies the exclusive, irregular-shaped swimming pool. It is on the same level as the house, which is about 15 m away, and is surrounded by a large area of plush grass set up with sunbeds and umbrellas. The pool, bordered in stone and lined in PVC, measures 4 x 8 m with a maximum depth of 1.40 m. It has chlorine purification, a solar shower and internal lights. It is open from the last Saturday of April to the first Saturday of October.

An ideal geographical location for exploring two of the most beautiful regions of Italy, seductive Tuscany and Umbria, known as the green heart of Italy for its magnificent nature: rivers, oases and reserves, waterfalls and lakes alternating with beautiful cities of art. A few kilometres away, in this area between the two regions, are Città della Pieve, Lake Trasimeno and Castiglione del Lago, Todi and Orvieto, Cortona, Perugia, Montepulciano, Pienza and other beautiful places to visit as well as the famous spas in the magnificent towns of Chianciano Terme and San Casciano dei Bagni. Surrounded by the green hills of the province of Perugia, the property is located at the entrance of the town of Paciano (a reference point, along with Panicale, which is about 3 km away, for shops and services), an historic and picturesque borgo, ranked among I Borghi più belli d'Italia (The most beautiful Villages in Italy), perched on a spur of Mount Pietrarvella at 391m above sea level. Its medieval origins can be seen in the sturdy walls that surround the old town centre and in the towers and narrow alleyways which offer glimpses of the beautiful panorama. Many are the monuments and places of interes, both inside and outside the town, including: the Clock Tower, the majestic entrance gate, the 11th century church of Santa Maria and many other historical churches dotted around the territory. The whole area is very well served by road links and the airports of Perugia, Florence or Pisa are within easy reach. The main A1 motorway exits are Chiusi (17 km) for those coming from the north and Fabro (29 km) for those coming from the south. The railway station of Chiusi, with direct connections to Florence and Rome, is 12 km from the property.

We loved the spaciousness of the house. The shaded yard, pool and outdoor eating area were very enjoyable. The location was within walking distance to Paciano, a charming town well-supplied with bars and restaurants. It was an easy drive to many other great towns and cities.
