PRIVATE STRUCTURE (lease only). Villa Ombrosa is surrounded by a beautiful park, with a great view on the fascinating town of Orvieto, known for its characteristic historical centre, which is built on a cliff of volcanic tuff and located in a dominant position overlooking the valley of the Tiber river. Villa Ombrosa was once the owner family home and now it transmits guests the warm feeling of Italian families and represents the ideal retreat, not only for those who want to enjoy a holiday far away from the stressfull city life and more close to nature, discovering local traditions and the distinctive sceneries, but also for jazz lovers, who can enjoy the well known Umbria Jazz festival which takes place every December in Orvieto.

VILLA OMBROSA HAS BEEN SUBJECTED TO A CHECK-UP BY A TECHNICAL RESPONSIBLE BEFORE THE BEGINNING OF THE SEASON, TO ENSURE CONSISTENCY OF THE DESCRIPTION, ACCESSORIES LISTED ON THIS PAGE AND THEIR PRESENT STATE OF OPERATION/MAINTENANCE, TO GUARANTEE QUALITY, CLEANLINESS AND COMFORTS TO ALL CLIENTS WHO WILL STAY HERE.

Interior:

Ground floor: porch with sofa leads you into the main entrance and then to the living room. Adjacent to the living room there is a well accessorized kitchen, from which one has access to a second porch.. On the same floor, there is a panoramic terrace overlooking the Orvieto Dome and the magnificent surrounding nature, bathroom with shower and a storage room complete this floor. First floor: it can be reached by an internal staircase from the living room and consists of two double bedrooms and two twin bedrooms, with joinable beds, one of these rooms has a balcony with a view. There are two bathrooms with shower.

Park:

Villa Ombrosa is surrounded by a park of approximately one hectare (2,471 acres) with chestnut trees and age-old plants, and a vast collection of ornamental plants where one can find path ways for beautiful walks. Between the house and the pool there is a fully equipped gazebo ideal for outside dinners. Please notice that photos are taken in spring, therefore flower blossoming, and the colours of the gardens' grass could be different at the moment of your arrival at the villa.

Swimming Pool:

Open from the last saturday of April to the first saturday of October. The swimming pool measures 12 x 6 m and is deep 1,65 m. The surrounding area is well maintained and furnished with comfortable deck-chairs, sun beds and a gazebo offering shelter from the sun. Near the pool there is also a covered veranda with barbecue, fridge, sofas and tables.

Location and distances


Very beautiful villa at just 1,7 km form the village of Torre San Severo and 12 km from Orvieto. From here you can take nice daily trips all over Umbria and Southen Tuscan, thanks the Motorway A1 exit in Orvieto. Rome distances at 1 hour from the villa, Florence at 2 hours. From here is possible to reach Bolsena lake ( half an hour drive), Montefiascone ( 45 min. drive). The Medieval city Todi is far from the villa at 40 min. from here crossing the freeway E45 allows to reach the touristy cities as Perugia, Assisi, Spoleto, Spello in 1 or 2 hours. Orvieto has an important railway station that make easy visit by train the major cities like Rome or Florence avoiding the traffic and the parking problem.

Number one is the terrace and the VIEW!!! We spent all or time there when we were at the villa. A very close second is the pool which we used everyday because it was so hot for our two weeks. And third is having 3 full bathrooms, which came in very handy when trying to get 5 adults ready to go exploring everyday. The view was glorious.We could see our villa from Orvieto and vice versa. The facilities were exceptionally good. The welcome was very friendly. There was lots of space and sitting out areas. The pool was fantastic. The villa was quiet but everywhere was easy to get to, including Orvieto, Florence and Rome. Generally, it was just like like heaven!

What are the aspects of the property that you appreciated the most?
Location is stunning: situated on a hill in front of Orvieto, you get an impressive view of the city and the valley from the bedrooms, the garden and the pool. Lot of quietness: great if you like to be awaken in the morning by the birdsong. The house lies in the middle of a big and very well maintained garden (on one side) and a private woods (on the other side); if you have a dog, he will feel like being in an amusement park ! If you don't, just enjoy the walks with your beloved ones at sunset.

Do you have any suggestion in order to improve the quality of Emma Villas services?
No. The owner, Mrs. Rossana, is a kind and elegant Lady who used to live there and who still loves her property, taking (also personally) special care of it. She also takes care of the guests and is always reachable by phone whenever in need. Just consider she just speaks Italian and French (but in case she can ask her family for a help in English).

What factors made you decide to book with Emma Villas?
The size and value of the place, the location, the beautiful gardens, the pool, the amount of space. It is a very lovely place. Given the size of the place, the living room and front porch room were a bit small to accommodate 6 people much less 8. If the furniture were smaller scale there may be more seating space. We loved the terrace off the dining room and spent many hours there. Loved the many different eating area s and the exercise equpment and certainly loved the weather.

WEEKLY RENTALS:
The standard typology is the one that foresees the regular Saturday- Saturday stay. In this case it is possible to send a request or to directly book online.

SHORT STAYS and NON-WEEKLY STAYS:
For some periods it is possible to make shorter stays STARTING FROM 5 NIGHTS (periods highlighted in grey on the calendar). For some properties it is possible to book online, for other properties it is possible to send a booking request, which will be subject to acceptance by Emma Villas. One of our booking operators will answer the clients within 24 hours.

WEEKLY RENTALS NON SAT - SAT STAYS:
Exclusively for the periods marked in grey on the calendar, it will be possible to book different periods, rather than the regular Saturday - Saturday (for instance: check-in Wednesday - Check-out Wednesday). Also in this case, for some properties it is possible to book online, for other properties it is possible to send a booking request, which will be subject to acceptance by Emma Villas within 24 hours.

The booking requests for one week stay during July and August are subject to approval.
